Numata Yoichi was a Japanese actor born in Yubara Village, Maniwa District, Okayama Prefecture. He graduated from Tokyo Prefectural Sixth Junior High School and dropped out of Nihon University's Film Department. After working as a trainee at the NHK Osaka Broadcasting Theater Company, he joined Toyoko Film in 1947. In 1953, he transferred to Shintoho.
