Wang Lai, born Wang De Lan, was a Chinese actress from Beijing. She entered the show business in 1951, but her first movie (Shen Kan Ji, 神龛记) was prevented from screening. She then moved to Hong Kong, where she starred in more than 100 movies. Winner of four Golden Horse Awards for Best Supporting Actress, she gained the nickname of "Actress of a thousand faces" for her numerous and varied supporting roles.
